January 22nd, 2007 March for Life

On January 22sn 2007 the group “March for Life” held it’s annual march to as an action to remind the public of the 34 th anniversary of Roe v Wade, the legalization of abortion.

The march started off as a rally on the mall with a stage full of speakers and sign holders to an crowd of about 50,000 people. To follow the rally was then a march around the capitol building to the Supreme court, and then followed by a visit to the elected officials for an afternoon of lobbying.

I honestly tried to get some shots of the stage and their speakers, but the security, which seemed to be made of the Catholic fraternal organization “Knights of Columbus”, did not open the backstage to the press.

So, instead I focused on the crowd and their activists which were made of many Catholic school children and various churches from all over the country.

All and all, it was a pretty wet and cloudy day, but there were still many images to be had.
